Frente al mar (1963)

Facing the Sea (1963)
lyrics by Rodolfo Taboada
music by Mariano Mores

Facing the sea,
facing God…
my voice, steeped in night and sorrow,
trembles with the last goodbye…
Facing the sea,
facing God,
I’m begging you that at least
you tell me why you’re punishing me…
Facing God,
facing the sea,
I ask you if perhaps my crime was giving,
always giving, asking only for love in return…

I don’t know what happened
I don’t know why it was
that the light of our love went out…
I only know that you’re leaving
and the wind, in your name,
seems to cry: Never again!

Orquesta Aníbal Troilo, singer Roberto Rufino (1963)

Frente al mar (1963)
letra de Rodolfo Taboada
música de Mariano Mores

Frente al mar,
frente a Dios,
frente a Dios,
yo te ruego que, al menos,
me digas por qué me castigas…
Frente a Dios,
