I bring my life close to you again—
hiding all my failures,

      Could be! The lyrics deliberately keep the identity of the owner of the “serene hands” ambiguous…though it does seem likely that the only woman who would take back an errant man would be his mother…

      • Do mothers ever punish their sons with their scorn and forgetting?? While the idea of the mother makes some sense (a recurrent theme in tango lyrics) as the true “good” woman, this lyrics are a bit too nostalgic and romantic…. I do not think a son would fear….”encontrar el reproche de tu olvido”
